A 4-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent with a GPA of 3.0 or higher (across all undergraduate coursework and/or institutions attended) with coursework in math, physics, biology and chemistry.

Acceptance into the program is competitive, and our standards are consistent with other rigorous graduate degree programs in the sciences. In addition to possessing an undergraduate academic record, successful applicants will have a strong academic foundation in the basic science disciplines. 

List your postsecondary institutions in your application, and upload a transcript for each institution.

List your relevant professional and academic experiences.

At least one of your letters of recommendation should be written by a science professor.

The statement of purpose allows you to highlight areas of your background or interests that may not be clear in other areas of your application. Please include your interest and/or experience in complementary and alternative medicine.

Applicants to any Georgetown program may choose to submit an Optional Statement that addresses diversity, personal background and contributions to community. A detailed prompt for the statement can be found in the application.

We encourage you to consider applying for the Hoyas for Science Scholarship (new window), offered through Georgetown Biomedical Graduate Education. Please note that the scholarship has a similar prompt to the Optional Statement, and you can incorporate your Optional Statement text into your essay for this scholarship application.

Please include any previous AMCAS/AACOMAS application(s).

All applicants are required to demonstrate a level of proficiency in the English language sufficient to meet the admission requirement of the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. Follow the TOEFL/IELTS instructions in Admissions FAQ (new window) to determine whether you need to send us test scores to prove your English language proficiency.

The fund provides partial merit-based scholarships that are awarded to eligible fall incoming students in the Integrative Medicine & Health Sciences program. The fund is offered by the Division of Integrative Medicine and Whole Person Health. Integrative Medicine and Whole Person Health are strongly rooted in the principles of Cura Personalis (care for the whole person) and the use of globally diverse medical systems for the development of mind, body, and health as a whole.

Biomedical Graduate Education (BGE) offers scholarships to incoming master’s students based on merit and service. Scholarship applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and awarded subject to funding availability, so we recommend that you apply as soon as possible after submitting your program application. BGE also offers merit-based scholarships to a limited number of Master of Science students based on programs’ recommendations.
